Well, our NECAPs are all packed up and ready for shipment back to Measured Progress! Thank you for your support of our students and teachers during this busy month. Luckily, we have enjoyed some fun events along the way. Our Hay Day on October 14th was a great success. We couldn't be more grateful to Jamie Bedard for her fantastic organization, for the volunteers who ran workshops, and to the parents and community members who brought in snacks and supplies to make this day so special for our whole school!
Last Wednesday afternoon, I attended the 2011 Outstanding Teacher of the Year ceremony at the University of Vermont. Our own Rita Kalsmith was honored as our district's Outstanding Teacher of the Year at this ceremony alongside teachers form other districts across the state. Congratulations to Mrs. Kalsmith!
Parent-teacher conferences begin after school this Thursday from 3-7. We will also hold conferences during the day on Monday, October 31st. There is no school for students on the 31st.
Construction on the high tunnel behind the Fire Department building began last weekend. Check out our Facebook page to see a photo, or better yet, stop by to see it. We are excited about this garden expansion project!
Students at FCS earned their first school-wide celebration, with our last homeroom class earning their class apple on our school-wide board yesterday! We will have a surprise celebration to recognize them for their great work in following school expectations soon...
Have a great week!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Wood
