Physical Education

Fairfield Center School strives to provide a quality Physical Education curriculum to all students in grades K-8.  Physical Education plays an important role through activity, for physical, mental and social development, and improvement of the individual to meet the challenges of life.  It is my goal to empower all students to sustain regular, lifelong physical activity.   All students regardless of ability or need deserve an edcuation of the body and mind.

At FCS the students are participating in lessons that are aligned with the Vermont Physical Education standards and National Standards twice a week for fourty minutes each class.  Sneakers must be worn in the gym at all times.  Snow boots, dress shoes, Crocs, and any unsafe footwear are not allowed during physical education classes.  This is for the safety of every child in the class.  Students who do not wear safe footwear will be asked to sit out or borrow a pair of sneakers from Mrs. CH's office.

Physical Education is a unique classroom setting.  Fairfield Center School provides a safe, structured environment where students can develop their gross motor and sport skills, identify movement concepts, and achieve and maintain health-enhancing levels of physical fitness.  Parents are encouraged to send in notes for those days when a child is ill or injured and cannot participate.  All notes will be honored.

If parents have any questions, comments, or concerns feel free to email me or call me at (802)-827-6639.
