The Common School was built in 1809. They raised the money by giving grain and cattle. The building was built and it cost $1000. It is still there today.1


In 1952, one of the East Fairfield schools burned. A decade later, it was rebuilt. It is now a community center in East Fairfield. 2


The first switchboard was put in the Morey Drug Store in E. Fairfield around the year 1908. The store is now known as Maynard's Market. 3


Fairfield, VT was named after Fairfield, CT.4


Samuel Hungerford founded town of Fairfield in 1763. 5
